Power of Gentleness
Our job in this world is to build relationships. Jesus reminded us to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. God EMPOWERS us with His Holy Spirit. If we give Him room, we see the fruit of His presence in our lives. You know that fruit.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
I don’t think, however, we are living it. Fear and anger overshadow our ability to express this fruit. It is hard to respond to a harsh world with tenderness. When we want to respond with fight back with severe language we reject gentleness.
Proverbs 15:1 (NIV) A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
I am not always right and neither are you.
We both seek to do what is right but we miss it. We must humbly submit to God and let Him direct our responses to others. Listen with gentle spirits. Respond with kind hearts. Love as Jesus loved.
The power of gentleness
Gentleness does not equal weakness.
Gentleness is courageous in a harsh world.
Gentleness is refreshing.
Gentleness is balm to a weary soul.
Gentleness is strength because it does not draw attention to self.
